A complete redesign of chimukamafunga.com — rebuilt to the standard of the world’s leading commercial firms, in the firm’s own charcoal and signature accent, with the firm’s own voice. This proposal presents the new design, what changes, the value it creates, and the investment required.
ChimukaMafunga Commercial Attorneys advises on the transactions that shape Zimbabwean business — twelve lawyers, four partners, Chambers Global recognition, and counsel delivered in English, Shona and Ndebele. Yet the firm’s website runs on an Elementor page-builder theme first published in 2017: a generic tagline, stock imagery, a logo served as a 2020-era GIF, and the firm’s genuinely distinctive offerings — its online client experience, its Kura initiative — underplayed.
We have redesigned and rebuilt the full website — all eight pages — drawing on the design language of the world’s leading commercial firms: confident condensed typography, the firm’s signature accent applied with discipline, eleven practice areas integrated into one authoritative page, and a “Request Appointment” path on every screen.
Nothing about the brand changes. The firm’s logo is untouched and the identity — the charcoal, the signature accent, the “practical, relevant, individually tailored” promise — is applied exactly as-is, only more consistently and more confidently.
What changes is everything around it: structure, typography, messaging, mobile experience, speed and conversion. The result is a website that matches the counsel — and turns the referral moment into an appointment.
This is not a mock-up. It is the actual rebuilt home page, embedded below. Scroll inside the frame, hover the cards, and switch between desktop and mobile views.
The full redesign covers all eight pages — Home, Services, Online Experience, Our People, Insights, Downloads, Kura and Contact — delivered with this proposal.

| Area | Current website | Proposed redesign |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | ✕A WordPress/Elementor theme first published in 2017 — builder markup, plugin weight, and template constraints. | ✓Hand-built, owned outright. Clean, lightweight code with no builder lock-in — nothing between the firm and its website. |
| First impression | ✕A generic tagline — “Committed to Helping you Succeed!” — over stock imagery; the firm’s Chambers standing appears nowhere on the first screen. | ✓Commercial counsel for decisive moments. The firm’s promise — practical, relevant, individually tailored — stated with authority, with the Chambers recognition where prospects decide. |
| Brand assets | ✕The logo is served as a 2020-era GIF; typography and accent colour drift from page to page. | ✓The identity applied with discipline: the signature accent, confident condensed display type, and consistent treatment across all eight pages. |
| Practice areas | ✕Eight areas shown as icon cards, each leading to thin pages. | ✓Eleven integrated practice areas on one authoritative Services page — from corporate advisory to insolvency — each with its real scope described. |
| Our people | ✕Partner names absent from the home page; the team’s structure and trilingual capability undersold. | ✓Twelve lawyers, four partners, presented properly — with the firm’s fluency in English, Shona and Ndebele made a visible differentiator. |
| Online experience | ✕The firm’s genuinely modern offering — online registration, virtual consultations, secure documents — buried as a menu item. | ✓A flagship Online Experience page: register online, consult virtually, exchange documents securely — the full experience of the firm without leaving your desk. |
| Kura initiative | ✕Kura exists as a navigation item with little framing. | ✓A dedicated Kura platform page — “to grow”, in Shona — with its own identity inside the firm’s brand, ready for the initiative’s content. |
| Insights | ✕A sparse blog with long gaps between articles. | ✓A structured Insights section designed to make the firm’s commentary a visible marketing asset — and easy to keep current. |
| Mobile experience | ✕Builder output compressed onto the phone; heavy assets on mobile data. | ✓Mobile-first and data-light — built for the phone screens most Zimbabwean clients and referrers actually use. |
| Conversion | ✕A contact form at the end of the journey; no persistent appointment path. | ✓“Request Appointment” in the sticky header of every page, click-to-call numbers throughout, and a confidential enquiry form with reCAPTCHA. |
A website redesign is not a cosmetic expense. For a professional-services firm it is a revenue asset. Here is where the return comes from.
Commercial work arrives by referral. When a director or investor checks the firm online, the new site confirms the recommendation instead of diluting it.
Few Zimbabwean firms can offer online registration, virtual consultations and secure document exchange. The redesign promotes it from a menu item to a flagship.
English, Shona and Ndebele — stated proudly where clients decide, not discovered by accident.
Fast, semantic pages with proper metadata, aimed at the searches that matter: “commercial lawyer Harare”, “tax attorney Zimbabwe”, “business rescue Zimbabwe”.
The Kura initiative gets a dedicated, flexible platform page with its own identity — ready for the firm’s content without further design work.
Data-light pages, click-to-call numbers and thumb-friendly navigation that respect mobile data.
